The craft of chair caning is truly a lost art. Don’t be discouraged by the intricate hexagons that set caned furniture apart, you will learn how to unravel the mystery of this simple repeating pattern. You will learn to use the traditional seven-step process for caning your own chair. We will cover how and where to get your materials, estimating the amount you’re going to need, sorting and preparing your cane, preparing your work area, and learning the proper way to care for your chair during and after caning. The course will be two hours per night, two nights per week, for six weeks. Though this process is labor intensive, the finished product will give you years and years of enjoyment and satisfaction.
