Description
Ever want to be a radio deejay? Mixcloud is a website that allows for uploading pre-recorded music shows to their site. They have a free service (limited to 10 shows on their site at any time) and a pay service for $15 a month (unlimited shows plus you can go live and play music for a live audience at any time). They pay artist royalties so everything is legal. There are DMCA rules (copyright law) governing playing music online including, you must own or have the rights to play the music you use in your show (e.g. you cannot download songs from YouTube and play them). But if you don't have music, that's okay. I have a Live365 radio station, Rock on Neon, and the station has the pay service on Mixcloud. So you will have the option of joining Mixcloud to create shows with your music to upload; or you can use the station's music (rock, alternative rock, new wave, adult alternative – songs from the mid sixties on) and I will upload your show to the station's Mixcloud page where your family and friends can listen to it whenever they want (and obviously, you can too). In the course you will learn how to use Mixcloud, how to use Audacity (free software to create your shows), the DMCA rules, and more. You will also listen to indie and small label artist songs that most don't know so we can jointly create a “best of indie” show that will be broadcast on my Live365 radio station.
