Activity Organizer: Castle Chess Email: josh@castle-chess.com Dates: Fridays Grades: K–1 Cost: $550 Description: This dynamic and engaging chess club, is designed to thoroughly prepare students for competitive chess tournaments through innovative training methods, move-by-move analysis of renowned matches, and hands on practice. Students will develop tactical prowess and strategic thinking through participating in puzzles designed to sharpen skills in pattern recognition, calculation, and precise execution of complex maneuvers. Hands-on practice games will challenge students to implement their tactical vision, while collaborative analysis will reinforce their grasp of strategic concepts. These immersive tactical exercises, coupled with comprehensive opening preparation and endgame drills, equip students with an unrivaled competitive edge. Students will also learn the rules established by the USCF preparing them to attend any rated tournament and succeed. There will be a weekly homework sent home to parents. The Club is planning on hosting Chess tournaments on the last Saturday of every month at a location which is TBD. Dates are subject to change as we get closer to the tournaments and tournament costs will be in addition to club fees. Prerequisite: Students must already know how to play chess.
