Ukulele Winter Songs

The Olympia Center • 222 Columbia St NW OLYMPIAWA  98501 Organized by Olympia Parks, Arts and Recreation

About this event

Description

If learning how to play winter-themed songs on the ukulele sounds like a blizzard of fun, then this class will be your perfect musical hot toddy. You'll learn approximately 10 songs about winter or snow or set in winter season (but not Christmas songs!); many by iconic artists such as Simon & Garfunkel, Ray Charles, The Beatles, The Mamas & The Papas, and Arianna Grande, as well as some real cool winter songs by lesser-known artists. Along the way, you'll learn new chords, strums, and get playing tips. And even if you're not a huge fan of winter, this class should still warm your heart and make it considerably more enjoyable. Pre-requisite: This class is best suited for those who have taken an intro level uke class, but if you know at least 7 basic chords on the ukulele and can transition between them you should do fine. Bring your soprano, concert, or tenor uke (no baritone ukes, please!) along with a ukulele capo (or a guitar capo). No loaner instruments are available. Instructor: Jeff Saxon
