About this event
Hello! My name is Rachel Diao and I am the teacher for Art II Camp! I've been doing art for thirteen years and have always found expression through forms other than speech incredibly fascinating and enlightening. As a student at UC Berkeley, I understand how important it is to create an enriching education that broadens the horizons and inspires the minds of people of all ages. That is precisely what I want to provide the students of Art II. Through exploring different cultural art forms, majorly influential artists, and ways to express oneself through artistic means, I hope to provide the kids with an eye-opening experience as I bring them on an adventure of creative exploration. We will make Chinese shadow puppets and Guatemalan kites, while learning about their history and recreating art from artists such as Jackson Pollock, Salvador Dalí, and Frida Kahlo. There will be many opportunities for the students to freely express themselves through various art forms! I'm so excited to have the campers explore art with me!
