About The Space Trilogy Over their Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior years, our students at Pacifica read C.S. Lewis’s Ransom Trilogy, better known as “the Space Trilogy,” in their humanities classes. This much-neglected yet brilliant series imaginatively explores the cosmic dimension of everyday life and faith. Part science fiction, part fairy tale, part fictional realism, the Ransom Trilogy is a heady blend of experiences and ideas that provocatively transport readers to the strange and unfamiliar in order to return them to their ordinary lives able to see and appreciate the beauty and truth we so often overlook. The result is a sharpened sense of both the good we are called to pursue every day and the evil that threatens to extinguish it. We hope you will join us this November as Dr. Woods returns to lead the next installment of our Pacifica Book Club on the first book in the Ransom Trilogy, Out of the Silent Planet.
