Description
This eight (8) hour course is required for all Hired Vendors working with the USFS or CAL FIRE on any active wildland fire assignment. This class is mandatory for vendors to be eligible for contracts for the current fire season. Bulldozer operators, water tenders, crew bus drivers, vehicle drivers, and mechanics who have a CalFire/USFS agreement or contract requiring annual safety training will need to take this mandatory class or they will not be eligible for contracts for the entire 2025 fire season.The course aims to educate hired vendors who plan to engage in “all-risk” incidents, wildland fire suppression, and other incident support activities, on how to recognize and mitigate risk and maintain safe and effective practices while working under agency supervision on an incident.Upon successful completion of training, participants will receive a course completion diploma from State Fire Training that is valid for one (1) year from the date of issue.
