Description
Memoir WritingThis memoir group welcomes writers of all levels with the intention for all to share and listen to personal stories. Writing memoir provides an opportunity to explore an event or time in your life ranging from a moment in childhood to walking in your neighborhood last night. Participants are encouraged to bring a 5-7 minute piece of writing to share. Reflections on the writing are always positive in nature. After a story is read aloud, others in the group are invited to give feedback. This is not a class where writing is critiqued or techniques are taught. It is a safe place to find your own true voice.
Memoir is a unique class where we share stories with the intention that each member feel safe, seen and heard. In order to create this safe space, we each agree to be honest and kind and to treat one another with courtesy and respect. Confidentiality is required to engender trust. If a member of Memoir would like to bring a guest, we ask that you let the group know ahead of time and if there are no objections, then they are welcome.
