Smokey Bear: Why We Burn

Sugar Creek Administration Center • 17540 W. Laraway Road JolietIL  60433 Organized by Forest Preserve District of Will County

About this event

Description

“Only you can prevent forest fires,” says Smokey Bear. But what about those not-so-wild fires? Fire used responsibly can be an important tool. Join our ecology coordinator for a presentation on why, when and how the Forest Preserve District of Will County uses fire as a tool for conserving and restoring the habitats entrusted to us. Find even more inspiration by viewing the “Smokey Bear: The Rudy Wendelin Collection.” Be sure to see all 19 pieces on display across participating nature centers through March 2. Sugar Creek Administration Center is an accessible facility.

If you have any questions, please call us at 815-727-8700.
