Staff advisor: Rangoli Eusebius Email: rangoli.eusebius@basisindependent.com Student Advisor: Rajat, Rohan Dates: Every Thursday with the first meeting on 9/12 and the last on 12/5 Time: 4:00 PM–5:00 PM Grades: 9 –12 Cost: $125 Description: Welcome to the Advanced Java Club, where we take your programming skills to the next level! Led by student leaders Rohan and Rajat, under the guidance of their computer science teacher, Ms. Rangoli, this club is designed for Java enthusiasts who want to delve deeper into the world of programming and multitude of Java Programming certifications. Java is an essential programming language, even today, powering billions of applications that range from mobile programming (through Kotlin), through integrations (such as Dell Boomi), and even competition programming (pure Java). By joining the Advanced Java level, you will be on par with entry industry-level standards expected by possible jobs/internships. You will be going through concepts such as deeper OOP programming (polymorphism/inheritance), Data Structures (List/Stack/Queue/Deque/Set...), realtime programming (Multi-Threading), and Graphics (useful for our final project). We believe that while AP Computer Science A is a good start, it is not a complete foundation for real-life programming. Even if you aren’t going into the Computer Science Field, knowledge of Computer Science is important in any industry. Just like how Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, computer science is making its way into healthcare, economics, science, and more. Eventually, everyone will have to learn to code because coding allows for efficiency and modeling, a necessity by today’s standards. As high school students, we understand that learning some of these concepts will be tricky, so we will be having regular and frequent hands-on projects and take-home activities to practice and add to our portfolio. At the end of the session, we will recommend the next steps you should take to ensure strong, stable, and con
