Course Description:
Anatomy and Figure Drawing is a course designed as a basic study of human anatomy and an introduction to figure drawing from the direct observation of the human form. In Part I of this course we will study the human skeletal structure and how it influences the external appearance of the human figure. With our knowledge of the skeletal structure we will draw directly from nude models. Basic drawing skills are encouraged for this course, but not required. We will also discussed basic drawing skills throughout the course, such as line quality, value structure, gesture drawing, and developing proper form.

This is the basic list of supplies required for this course. During the course of this term the instructor may ask you to purchase additional material, but this will be kept to the absolute minimum and the list below show get you through the majority of the lessons.
ArtBin Pencil Box (or a box or bag) to hold pencils, pens, erasers, sharpeners, etc)
1 Sketchbook (Hardbound or Wire-bound) Minimum Size 8.5” x 11”
1 Strathmore Bristol 300 Series (Vellum) Drawing Pad Minimum Size 11” x 14”
Pencil-Set that includes (Ebony Pencil, HB, 2B, 2H
Kneaded Eraser
White Plastic Eraser
Pencil Sharpener
Drawing Board (Optional)
