Description
This is the first part of a two-semester course. Students will gain a basic knowledge of the following: hair texture, cutting, styling, coloring, manicures, pedicures, basic chemistry, infection control, and basic principles of hair and design. It is a theory-based class to prepare students for the Virginia State Board exam. Students will be required to complete an apprenticeship of 36 hours a week for a total of 3,000 hours in a salon. Books and supplies included. National certification testing fees are the student's responsibility.
