About this event
DATES: Oct 6, 13, 20, 27 Instructor: Layla Klinger Bobbin lace is a lacemaking technique in which lengths of thread wound on bobbins are twisted and braided. As the work progresses, the lace is held in place with pins placed in a lace pillow following a pattern. In this class, students will learn the basic fundamentals of Torchon lace and how it's constructed. We will be focusing on Half stitch, Linen stitch, and Whole stitch techniques, while constructing simple bobbin lace sampler. Students will also work towards making a simple Torchon tape lace. - Our classes are designed to focus on a learned skill rather than a final product. At TAC, our mission is to provide skills and knowledge for a lifetime! All materials for sample making and learning the technique are included. Any additional materials will need to be supplied by the student based on their vision. 4 Week students have access to Open Studio time for free for the duration of the class and up to a week after the class ends, to put their new knowledge to practice.
