Description
Ages 7 and older.
It’s Smokey Bear’s 80th birthday! To honor this beloved mascot, we will start with a forest hike to share the history of Smokey. After a beary good hike, we will head over to our campground to demonstrate and practice safe campfire building techniques. Finally, what better way to cele-bear-ate the night than with s’mores by the fire! Please dress for the weather. Meet at the Goodenow Grove campground. The hike will be less than 1 mile on natural surface trails that may be uneven.
Find even more inspiration by viewing the “Smokey Bear: The Rudy Wendelin Collection.” Be sure to see all 19 pieces on display across participating nature centers through March 2.
